Meet the Mists!

Oh, the Mists! If you are anything like me you might be wondering, what the heck do I do with a Mist? That’s what I’m here to tell you!

We’ve had the Rosewater Mist for a long time and I have loved using it, but when the new Beautycounter+ Mists launched I fell into a whole new level of love with a Mist.

It’s another one of those products you don’t know what you’re missing until you start using it. They are active-infused and alcohol-free. They prep the skin, set makeup, and refresh throughout the day.

In addition to the Rosewater Mist, which is made with organic rose essence, purified water, and moisturizing sodium hyaluronate, we have added 3 new Mist formulations that complement our 3 Face Oils and 3 Face Masks.

The No. 1 Mist is one of my favorites! Its key ingredients are Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (MAP), which is a form of Vitamin C, Kakadu Plum, and Lime Pearl Extract.

MAP is one of the most stable forms of Vitamin C and it is fat-soluble so it is easily absorbed into the skin. MAP has a hydrating effect on the skin and decreases transepidermal water loss. It is also a free radical scavenger that is photoprotective and increases collagen production under laboratory test conditions. Another key ingredient is Kakadu Plum, which is rich in Vitamin C. And, Lime Pearl Extract, which provides gentle exfoliation. Please see my blog post for all of the benefits of Vitamin C (

I love using this during my morning regimen as it is the perfect makeup setting spray (when I actually wear makeup!), but probably my favorite use is throughout the day. If I am out and about I am coming into contact with multiple environmental stressors and pollutants. The products I applied in the morning are likely wearing off so a couple spritz of this helps provide an instant boost of radiance, hydrates, revitalizes and soothes skin. The best part is it provides antioxidant protection from the environment.

The No. 2 Mist is another great addition to your skincare line up as it also is a great makeup setting spray for a more refined and finished surface. Similar to the No. 1 Facial Mist, it also includes ingredients to protect you from the environment, so it’s another great addition to your purse to use throughout the day. Specific to this Mist are the ingredients Peony Root Extract, Rye Seed Extract, and Apple Fruit Extract.

Peony Root Extract is native to China and has been used for medicinal purposes for thousands of years. It helps smooth skin, has brightening properties, and helps condition the skin. It also has some anti-inflammatory properties. This mask also includes Rye Seed Extract, which improves skin structure and softens expression lines. Its final key ingredient is Apple Fruit Extract, which has astringent properties to help tighten and lift the skin.

This will be a great hydration boost during the day if your skin is feeling a little dry. It’s been my go to these past few weeks as we transition from Winter to Spring.

I have a feeling that this Mist is going to be my diaper bag go to when it’s hot and humid out. The active ingredients in this mist include, Charcoal Powder, Kaolin, and Wild Rose Extract. This mist is also great for setting makeup and protecting against the environment.

Charcoal powder is highly absorbent and rich in natural minerals to help balance and purify skin, which is great for acne prone skin. The Kaolin is a soft clay that effectively absorbs excess oil. And, the Wild Rose Extract is rich in vitamins A and C, which helps reduce redness.

For all of you that have been fighting to tighten and shrink those pores, this Mist is for you. With the Charcoal Mask already doing the brunt of the work, the Mist will be the perfect addition since it will act during the day to also minimizes the appearance of pores and help purify, detoxify, and clarify the complexion. I also think where this Mist will shine will be how it works during the day to keep the skin in tip top shape. With its ability to balance oily areas and hydrate dry areas, it will be the perfect pick me up.
