Consistency is Key

Well, here it is! My first blog post! I have had this on my "to do" list for awhile and have had numerous requests from friends and family to start one and thanks to my amazing hubby it is ready to go. My first post is about a topic that frequently comes up when I am talking to Beautycounter teammates, gym members and friends/family and so I figured what better way to make my blogging debut! This blog/website will be a solid mix of health and wellness information, nutrition/recipes, fitness, information about personal care/cleaning products and of course Beautycounter. I hope you enjoy and let me know if you ever have any questions.A word that continuously comes up when I am talking to team members and gym members about how to reach their goals is consistency. So many times I have seen someone start the journey strong as the newness and excitement is in full force, but once that wears off and the honeymoon phase is gone, this is when the real work starts and when the magic can happen. To truly see results consistent effort needs to be put forth. The results will likely not happen overnight and this is where people tend to phase out. Seeds will need to be planted and then they will need to be watered. Eventually things will grow, whether it be your business or results in the gym. This consistent effort also means finding balance so that the work that is put in is sustainable and reproducible for the long hall. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. So, how do you create consistency? Set your goal and write it down. Then create the action items that it will take to get there. Be organized and make it a priority. Don’t get discouraged if it seems that it isn’t paying off, it will. Trust me. Sometimes it will seem that you are putting the work in day after day and nothing is happening and then all of a sudden, it happens. It might be a message from a potential client or prospect, an order, someone telling you that all the information you have been sharing has made a difference and they are making changes at home to be healthier. It may be a personal record in the gym, or pants fitting looser. The key to the success is the consistent effort that has been put in week after week and making it a priority. So, find your passion and don’t stop working toward your goals. If you think it is worth saying yes in the first place then make sure you don’t stop putting in the consistent effort to see the results.
