Take Care of Your Skin

I used to be the girl that shopped at Target for the bulk of my beauty supplies. Now, I'm not talking about the current Target that is expanding their safer product offerings. I'm talking about old Target where I would buy products like Neutrogena, Oil of Olay, and Pantene Pro V. I didn't think to look at ingredients on labels and assumed that they were safe. Now I know better. As I get older and see age creeping in I want to take as good of care of my skin that I can. I want to hold off those wrinkles and age spots like most, but I know that the common ingredients used like hydroquinone and retinol carry risks including carcinogenicity. It's not worth the risk when there are safer and effective products out there. And, let's not forget about the sun. As a young girl I lathered myself in baby oil and layed out wanting that golden tan that never happened with my pasty white skin. All I ended up with were some stellar burns. I know the damage is done, but I can change how I treat my skin now. It's not too late. And, I won't accept the thought that something is going to kill me anyway so why bother. I want to live the healthiest life I can so that as I age my quality of life is good. That is why I eat the way I do, exercise, and make an effort to clean up my environment and skin care. I don't strive for perfection, but small changes make a big impact. ❤️
